I'm like wow just wow. IMO the Holy Grail would be to write sans piano roll like StaffPad, where articulations are done by notation as opposed to programming, and use any VST I wanted. Write music, using your digital pen*, and StaffPad will transform your handwritten notation into a beautifully typeset score which you can then edit, play back, print or even share the parts in real-time with musicians, using ScoreSync. StaffPad’s help documentation (again, excellent) makes it look really easy. The examples of handwriting are really loose. As a percussionist who detests how other score programs handle drum set notation, I would love to be able to write drum parts as easily as the support documentation illustrates.

It’s possible to add notes within a beam group even after StaffPad has converted your manuscript into engraved notation, by drawing them in the appropriate positions. Upon exiting the bar, StaffPad will add the notes to the existing beamed group.

For iPad I think StaffPad is the best. I will give that a try and   Staffpad LOL I have Finale V25 now. A truly useful digital music stand app should be simple to use, always up-to-date, and help the musician to achieve the best  Library Staffpad Stations.
